SLEIGHT OF MOUTH

Ever wish you would have said something at the time but couldn’t think of it until later? These language and reframing skills help anyone be more adept at response at cue. Powerful language patterns to help anyone influence another’s experience.

All of our thoughts and actions are undertaken within a frame of reference (of which we may or may not be conscious). Sometimes these frames lock us into very restrictive thinking that limits the choices we have in life. Using reframes we can assist ourselves and others to get a different perspective on a problem and potentially other possible solutions. Reframing by itself seldom resolves the problem. Reframing offers the potential of “softening up” the problem so that its resolution is more plausible. A very powerful set of reframing patterns, called Sleight of Mouth, was developed by Robert Dilts through modeling the verbal patterns of people such as Karl Marx, Milton Erickson, Abraham Lincoln, Jesus and Mohandas Gandhi.

Permissive Language.

Indirect language patterns allow the speaker to reduce resistance of the listener without making a direct suggestion. bypass the conscious awareness and speak on many levels of understanding. Be the master of your language to help others expand their world model. Be powerful and influential.

Metaphors.

Metaphors are powerful learning tools. Abraham Lincoln and other superior communicators use metaphors to elegantly get their point across in a way that reduces resistance and create powerful understanding. Metaphors are designed to create a mental contruction of relations between elements of one thing to another thing. Their purpose is to establish pragmatic links between objects or processes of a different nature. They serve as preparation for the unconscious mind to create understanding and integration at a deeper level.

Advanced Beliefs

This weekend builds upon the initial NLP patterns you learned in the Practitioner Certification and presents the core principles underlying the change process. The training will take you beyond Practitioner level work to the more generative transformation of belief systems and replace them with new, empowering ones. The attention to detail and the opportunity to practice in a supervised setting gives you immediate and constructive learning experiences. There is no concern about memorizing the material, the experiential format allows you to actively integrate the patterns as you learn them. You will change and grow with the material in the class as you learn new ways to re-map your experience at the levels of beliefs and identity.
